More than four thousand immigrant children in detention centers in the United States are victims of abuse, according to internal agency documents released Tuesday by Florida Democratic Representative Ted Deutch.
According to these documents, there were 1,303 complaints that were presented to the Department of Justice during the same period.
In a conference, the hearing of the Judiciary Committee France Mobile Number List of the House of Representatives, it was noted that at least 154 of the complaints are against workers at the facilities themselves.

Deutch addressed the documents during a high-profile House hearing Tuesday on the Trump administration's “zero tolerance” policy that resulted in the separation of thousands of immigrant children from their parents.
“This is assault, one sexual assault by HHS personnel on an unaccompanied minor per week,” he added.
“I am deeply concerned by documents that have been released by HHS that record a large number of sexual assaults against unaccompanied children in the custody of the Office of Refugees and Resettlement,” Deutch said.
“Together, these documents detail an environment of systematic sexual assaults by staff of unaccompanied children.”
According to Axios, some of the incidents that were reported to the Department of Justice included allegations reporting staff members who were accused of having relationships with minors, unwanted sexual contact, and showing pornographic videos to minors. Axios also reported that of the thousands of complaints, there were 178 allegations against adult staff.

For US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps Commander Jonathan White defended his agency against accusations of sexual abuse, when Rep. McClintock asked him to respond to accusations that everyone was “less abusive.” serious children” during a “slander trip a few minutes ago.”
“The vast majority of complaints turn out to be unfounded when investigated by state and federal authorities and the state licensing authorities to which we refer them. It is important to note that I am not aware of a single instance anywhere of a complaint against federal ORR personnel for abuse of a child. And I apologize if I sounded harsh in refuting that statement. To be clear, however, that has not happened,” he stated.
